Your Florida medical marijuana doctors must follow very strict, very specific rules when prescribing medical marijuana to their patients. This means that you too must follow very specific rules and criteria as a patient. So, what does your medical cannabis doctor need from you?
Florida Medical Marijuana Doctors: What Your Doctor Needs From You
If you are interested in medical marijuana to help to control your symptoms, there are a few things that your doctor will need from you before they can determine you as eligible for a medical marijuana prescription.
Make Your Appointment
The first thing you will need to do is to make your appointment for evaluation with Doctor Tirmal. You can do that using our easy online appointment tool. Your evaluation is free.
Fill in Your Paperwork
Once you have booked your appointment for a free evaluation with Doctor Tirmal, you will be redirected to a section of our site with some paperwork. You will need to go through these forms thoroughly reading them and signing where necessary. It is exceptionally important that you read every part of these forms and sign every required section. Failure to do either of these things can result in a delay in your appointment or even cancellation. It’s not just important that you thoroughly read these forms so that you can keep your appointment, though, it’s also important because you should have a complete understanding of the medical marijuana process.
Attend Your Consultation/Evaluation
The next thing you will need to do is to attend your consultation/evaluation at the appointment time you selected. Please do not forget your appointment time as we are a very busy clinic and if we have to reschedule your appointment it may be quite a way in the future depending on our schedule.
At your consultation (which is conducted via phone,) Doctor Tirmal will conduct your evaluation while also reviewing your medical records and completing any necessary paperwork. If the doctor then determines that you are a good candidate for medical marijuana treatment, he will approve your certification request and submit your application to the state of Florida.
We cannot overstate the importance of being upfront and honest with the doctor during your consultation. Your health is important and like any medical treatment, you have to be completely honest with your doctor to get the best treatment for you. This means telling your doctor about any medications that you currently take, any medical problems you may have, and anything else that you feel may be important to your medical care. Your doctor can only treat you based on the information that you provide, so this information must be as accurate as possible for the best outcome for your symptom relief.
During your consultation is also the time to ask any questions that you might have about medical cannabis treatment. Please don’t be afraid to ask any questions that you may have, it’s important that you go into your treatment with as much knowledge as possible! Doctor Tirmal will be happy to answer any treatment related questions that you may have as well as answer any questions that may come up while you are under his treatment.
After this visit, Doctor Tirmal will walk you through your application process for the medical marijuana card so that you can fill in your application.
Your Office Visit For Certification
The last step in the process is for you to come to our office for a certification visit with Doctor Tirmal. This allows us to finish registering you in the medical marijuana database as Florida law require. This visit is very important and without it, you cannot undergo medical cannabis treatment, so be sure to show up at your appointment time!
At your appointment, Doctor Tirmal will also walk you through the registry and show you the features that the website offers and how you can use them to keep track of your current prescriptions and to find local dispensaries to fill your prescription for you.
As with your last appointment with the doctor, this is a great opportunity to ask any questions that you might have about anything pertaining to your treatment or your prescription!
